-1 year update (well.. 11 months)-
The shoes are beginning to show some wear. The fabric on the insoles have bare spots and the heel on one is torn. But the shoes have held up well for the cost. I don't have a habit of taking good care of my shoes and I normally only own one pair. So these have been abused and are only just ready for replacement after a year. Not bad at all.

        -original review-
I have fairly wide feet. I measure Men's 10 4E when given enough room for wiggle. However I can rarely find 4E wide shoes in the stores so I normally go with a 10.5 2E or 11 2E which is still perfectly comfortable if just a tad loose. Since you can never be too sure about what one manufacturer's 4E is going to be compared to another buying shoes online has always been a risk for me. I was pleasantly surprised when these shoes arrived and they matched my measurements exactly. A perfect fit! This shoe is very tall with a thick cushiony insert. Very comfortable.

You can't go wrong with a pair of New Balance MX608v4's. I usually by another pair after a year or so. The last pair I had lasted 14 months before I decided to replace them. They never actually wear out, they just start looking old. I have an older pair I keep around for yard work that are probably three or four years old. They never die!

I need a wide shoe. I thought the 10.5 4E would run a little big, but not actually. Shoe fit fine. Great price. Very comfortable.

My son has a 4e foot & trying to find shoes to fit just right. He said that they were comfortable & do not rub. We will know more when he wears them for a time. LOOK GREAT! We always seem to go back to New balance because of having the right width.

When I first tried them on I was concerned they were too small. Except for color, they're just like my old ones that I had too tie tightly. I then loosened the laces just a bit and they are comfortable. I wore them all day on the job yesterday and they were comfortable, even at the end of the day.

These run a bit small, so I recommend sizing up a half size. I read that they run about a Half size small in other reviews, so the pair I got that were size 11 fit great (normally I'm a 10.5 in most shoes i.e. Adidas Stan Smiths). They're very comfortable as well.

These shoes fit very snugly and are extremely comfortable...definitely true to size. They are noticeably well-manufactured and definitely seem sturdy for the suede material they're made of. The inside of the shoe which rests upon the back of the foot is made of a comfy rubber-type material which makes them great should your socks ride down or you decide to not wear socks.

As for the style, it's a timeless classic that looks great with anything. An incredible buy especially considering the relatively cheap price and many color options.

I love Ugg. I have several pair that are all true to size. These were tight. Because I have to size up, the price was not in my range to purchase so I had to make a return without purchasing another pair. :( I really liked them. They were comfy and warm, just too tight overall and I knew they wouldn't work long term. In terms of sizing up - I rarely pay attention to these tips because they're all so over the board. For the first time ever, I would say, yes, size up if you plan on wearing any type of sock (even with thin socks these would have been too tight).

These boots are great. They fit well and I don't feel like I will slip and fall when I'm walking in the ice and snow, since the bottom of the boot is made better than most inexpensive boots. These boots are great.

These boots came in and looked nice however on closer inspection the entire side of one of the boots is not sewn on. It's completely useless. And can not be returned because their return policy is only 30 days. Sorry we had no reason to wear boots in the middle of summer and weren't able to discover the flaw before. Don't waste your money, these are obviously fakes!

I had high hopes for these boots and I am very disappointed. I ordered these because I walk my dog come rain or shine. I realized I needed good boots to walk in the snow. They were great for about three times we went out in the snow, then they started to let in water like a sieve. I came home several times with almost frozen feet. I am at a lost. I honestly don't know how to keep my feet dry and warm. It's not like we live in Alaska. this is maryland snow I'm talking about. The sad part is they are really comfortable to walk in. Also, if there is no snow or rain, they are pretty warm. But why would they named "Winter Boots" if I wasn't going to wear them in the storm. I feel like I threw $200 away. I am now online looking for boots so I remembered to leave a review. Don't know what to do with them. Supposed to have some sort of guarantee. What a joke. Lasted less than a month!

I have not planned on buying this pair at all. I went to a store to shop for snow/ cold-weathered boots and was eyeing a pair that is half the price. While trying on shoes, I noticed this pair of Uggs. I tried it on just out of curiosity, to see what the fuss was about, and I was immediately sold. Comfort level is topnotch! And this is compared to other top- brands in cold weather boots, they don't even come close. The only drawback was the price, one star off. But then, there is always a price to luxury.

I wore them today in 40 degree Chicago weather with regular socks and they were just right--just warm enough. I wear 7 1/2 or 8 and bought size 8. They are a little big, but I plan to wear heavier socks when it's colder so they will be fine. Very comfy and SO cute. I'm guessing they will be warm enough down to 30 degrees and then I'll switch to my "real" Northface winter boots.

These boots are so cute and comfortable! I love them! I wore them pretty much daily all through the cold months and miss wearing them now that it is hot! I have small, narrow feet with high arches, and I typically wear a shoe size 6.5. I read the reviews about these running a little big/wide so I ordered a half size smaller and got a 6. The fur on the inside is very "floofy", so it felt tight at first, but as they wore in, they began to fit great. Even so, my heel did pop out with each step if I wore thin socks so if you have thin feet like myself definitely wear thick socks with them. The arch support was not great, but these boots were not made for running a marathon. They are, in my opinion, better than UGGS. Would repurchase, very comfortable and worth the money! (Also, even with being worn as much as I wore them, the quality is holding up well)

I was skeptical ordering these because I didn't know much about Bearpaw. I however loved the distressed chestnut color and the price seemed great. I ordered the boots and received them three days earlier than amazon said I would which was amazing! I put them on and they felt like furry heaven on my feet! JUST as good as my Uggs if not a bit, dare I even say, softer! These are great boots and feel like great quality, I contacted Bearpaw directly about their sizing and they emailed me promptly and told me to order my usual size. Fit like a glove (I wear an 8 and ordered an 8). Will definitely have to look into more Bearpaw boots in the future. If you're thinking about these, they'd be a great addition to anyone's winter boot wardrobe!

These boots are the bomb!!! I have several colors and have designated the tan ones as my slippers. So soft and comfortable. My feet are always the perfect temperature...not to hot... not too cold...but just right!!! I usually were them without socks. I wear size 8.5 and ordered size 9 as was suggested by other reviews (thanks so much for doing so). They do stretch a bit, but you can just wear a medium or medium heavy sock. Delivery was much quicker than expected...yet another bonus! If I could I would give these boots a 10 star rating.....

UPDATE I have purchased 2 more pairs of these boots...1 black and 1 concord. Can't go wrong!!!

I have muscular calves and if your calves are thicker, you won't be able to wear these with pant legs stuffed inside the boots, particularly jeans. I'm giving these to my mom, who doesn't have that problem. Luckily we wear the same shoe size. These are quality, I just wish they were a little more forgiving in the size.

I ordered these from Amazon for my daughter three years ago and she loved them so much and has been asking for another pair for over a year because she had a growth spurt and needed a bigger size. Ordered her same color and style (her favorite) but this time in a women's 8. She was thrilled. These are really nice boots that are made well and are a cost-effective alternative to Uggs.

Warm, neat looking, sturdy, and inexpensive. Just as remarkable as Uggs. Should be improved to handle water staining, ruins the suede.

Loved this boots. They re Very comfortable, they look good and have a reasonable price. However they do run somewhat small so if you choose to buy them, get a bigger size. I had to return them but they ship super fast.

I've been committed to ASICS for last 5 yrs, usually good fit and strong support. This pair fit very narrow in the middle of the foot, but lose in the heel. After a few months, the inside of the heel has torn and worn thru causing blisters . Although these seemed like a good value - they will only last a couple months - very poor quality (made in China).

Good fit . Had gel road shoes and seems to be a nice addition to trail running. Getting close to 3000feet half marathon Diablo trail challenge , so breaking in these are a must to have a comfy time!
        Decently priced!

Very comfortable and wearing down slower than expected. I wear them for dog walks and sprinting on concrete, and they've got a couple hundred miles on them already. They get a little hot and sweaty during the summer since they don't breath super well, but definitely worth the price.

I bought this shoe to correct my under-pronation. However, I found the fit to be very snug at the big toe. I gave the shoes two tries at the gym before deciding to return them. My last several pairs of sneakers were Asics, so this pair was an unexpected disappointment.

I'm writing this review only hours after I got these boots, and I am SO excited to try them out outside in the cold weather! I'm in Madison, Wisconsin, and this week is going to stay in the 30's and even dip into the 20's (Fahrenheit!). I will update this review accordingly, and come back in a couple months to write details on durability when it comes to some real winter weather (hello blizzards and -20 degrees!!).

The first thing I noticed out of the box is that they don't have any weird smells, which is great. The outside smell faintly of leather, because that's what they're made of. I looked up the company, and Bearpaw's boots are outside = leather, inside = sheepskin. So if you're thinking about using these in snow like me, we need to waterproof these babies! Luckily I have a spray already to use on them.

The inside of these boots is SO SOFT. If I wore these barefoot (which you can, apparently, but for me - ew! I get sweaty feet), my feet would be in heaven. I tried wearing them with bare legs to see how soft it felt (because against your hands it doesn't feel that soft, it's got kind of a soft, but wooly feel to it) and against my legs it felt so fluffy and silky, so airy!! And warm!! None of the color (I ordered Chocolate) has transferred to my socks/pants. Awesome!

Also, from ALL the pictures I browsed through on the internet, none of them had any good views of the inner lining. I really wanted to judge how thick it was before I ordered, but since I couldn't find any good pictures, I just trusted the reviews saying that they're warm enough for really, really cold winters. And the lining is decently thick - I'd say it's about an inch thick, although over time it might get compressed a little with constant wear. The soles are a different color wool than the rest (it's white instead of chocolate), but still soft and fluffy. It feels like I'm walking on down pillows, mmmm! I put up several pictures of my boots if anyone is interested - of all angles, including the lining! Here is a link to my video of the boot:
        [...]

Some of the reviews said that after a month or two the lining starts wearing off and comes off on your clothes... The lining looks pretty well made, so I don't know if that will happen, but I will update this review if it does start coming off. Hopefully not... I am really loving these!

The bottom of the boots is made of really nice, sturdy but flexible rubber and I can see this really holding up for Wisconsin winters! So excited!! It's as thick as my other winter boots, so that's great news.

        SIZE:
I read so many reviews about what size to order, and it just got confusing. There were pretty much equal amounts of reviews telling you to order down a size, or order up a size. So I went to the Bearpaw website and they suggested ordering up a size...

I usually wear a 9.5 exact (no size 9, no size 10), so I decided to order a size 10. It makes sense, because there's a layer of fluff that you have to consider when you think about how much space there is for your feet. The size 10 fits me really well. When I first put them on, they seemed a tad bit small, but after walking around in them for a few hours, they're already form-fitting to my feet.

Basically: when you order, think about what your size would be when considering an extra inch of lining around your feet, and also remember that you don't want to order too large, because they do form around your feet after some use (that lining will be squished by your walking!). If you're a half size, order the next whole size like I did. I can't speak for people who have whole sizes because I didn't have that situation, but hopefully a size up won't be too big!

On an interesting side note, I think I remember that the Bearpaw website says you can wear these in any kind of weather - and I think that's just weird? How could you wear these on a hot summer day?? These are real winter boots and your feet would hate you for that, hah!

        **** UPDATE ************************ UPDATE ************************* UPDATE ******************************************
        January 2, 2014

So good news everyone! Turns out that the fur lining does NOT rub off on your clothes/socks. I think it kind of did like the second or third day I wore it (probably because it was getting broken in), but it wasn't even that much, and after that it has NEVER happened again. The color never has rubbed off on anything, even in the beginning.

So at this point I would DEFINITELY recommend that you DO NOT buy a size up if you can get your exact size. Only order a little up if you have a half size, just because they don't sell half sizes. After breaking them in they really form fit to your feet, so don't freak out if they feel a little tight when you first get them (it's just that the lining hasn't been squished by your feet yet - think of it like getting super fluffy slippers that mold to your feet).

The boot itself is holding up phenomenal, it's so worth the money! The rubber sole looks barely touched or scuffed or worn down at all and I've been wearing them daily since I got these (so mid-November til beginning of January at this point). I used them to walk to class every day (a mile or two) and I have been running and tramping through half a foot of snow with them. Waterproofing them helps them keep dry and also miraculously keeps all traces of salt stains off - they literally look like I just got them like last week, it's amazing.

As for the stitching on the sides - before I bought them I read some reviews saying that the thread has come apart on the stitching on the outside. So far for me, the stitching has been doing really great - I think there were a couple tiny fly aways at first but it's inconsequential to the strength of the stitches (holding up real well) and no more are occurring over time.

So finally the weather has been getting really cold here (this week we are getting -45 degrees Fahrenheit with the windchill factor and several inches of snow), and I never leave the house without these boots! Actually if I wear them inside the house my feet get too warm. These keep me warm no matter what I'm doing (hiking, walking on frozen lakes, walking through snow and wind). Because of these boots, I actually don't care about the weather outside anymore! I never worry about my toes getting cold, which was a HUGE problem with some of my other boots I've had over the years, because even though the boots were thick and sturdy on the outside (hard rubber or leather), they just didn't keep my toes warm. These are life savers for a Wisconsin girl in Winter!! I don't care about people who say they would never buy them because they look like uggs - I bought these for warmth and boy do they deliver. I have always gone for comfort when it comes to apparel and this is going to be a staple of mine if they don't discontinue these for the next few decades.

I'm not sure what to think of these boots.... I thought it was a bit strange that they arrived in a plain box with no label and no packaging material. After examining the boots I noticed you could see some of the glue near the sole. I paid nearly $70 for the boots and was starting to feel cheated. Then I looked at the label on the heel and noticed it was off center. Since the boots ran too small I decided to return them and purchase a bigger pair. Low and behold the new pair (from a different seller) arrive in a BEARPAW box with BEARPAW packaging inside. After further examination I see the new boots are slightly shorter than the original. I also notice that the new pair has perfectly straight labels and no glue hanging off the bottom. I'll let you be the judge but I feel like these were FAKES...... See pictures below.

Bought these for my wife as an x-mas gift. fit was a bit tight in the shaft but stretched out after a few days. After 16 days they tore along the seam on the top of the boot...we put a white piece of paper in them to show the size of the tear they were worn very little not enough to tear so easy. the quality seemed well enough they seemed sturdy up to that point, also I might point out that it was an odd place for them to tear considering you pull them on it seems as though they would have ripped from the back. Amazon was wonderful as always made the return easy and issued a refund as soon as they received the item.

Living in Upper Michigan, I definitely know a great pair of snow boots when I wear them, and THESE are truly GREAT! I'm actually from Florida and moved up here two years ago. In that two years, I have owned about 6 pairs of boots, TRYING to find a pair that would actually keep my toes warm! I've tried some of the best names in winter boots and NONE of them have done the job. None, that is, until these! My toes are actually toasty warm, even when I'm out in sub-zero temps for HOURS at a time! I absolutely LOVE these boots! They fit EXACTLY as I expected. Having said that, I ordered a size and a half SMALLER than I normally wear in other shoes, simply based on reviews and comments here on Amazon. They actually fit well enough that I can wear these with one OR TWO pairs of thick winter socks, although I don't anticipate ever NEEDING to wear with two pairs of socks.
Most boots that claim to keep your feet warm in temps down to -40 degrees F are LYING. The comfort rating on these boots is probably accurate. I've actually worn them in temps down to -35 (with the wind chill) and my feet have NEVER been cold, not even my toes! As I said earlier, it's my toes that usually get cold in all of my other (more expensive) snow boots. If these last even ONE of our brutal winters, I will be THRILLED with them. I will say that I bought a bottle of suede/nubuck protectant to make them "water proof" and it has also done it's job. I've already worn these boots in a couple FEET of snow and NEVER had wet feet or lower legs.
At the time that I bought these boots, I believe I paid like $33 for them. I've owned other boots that cost well OVER $100 and NEVER been satisfied with them. This is, by FAR, the best $33 I have EVER spent. On ANYTHING.
Do your feet (and TOES) a favor and BUY these boots! You can't possibly go wrong with these, especially if you live anywhere in the Northern Tier.

PS- I have not been compensated in ANY way for my HONEST review of these snow boots. If Amazon feels the need to compensate me, it will be GREATLY appreciated, though. ;)

I just received my Chocolate Bearpaws. After reading some reviews, I was a little nervous about the size. I take a size 8 but in some cuts of shoe or boot I can take an 8.5. I ordered a size 8 and they fit perfectly! My feet were in heaven as soon as I put them on. I truly cannot tell the difference between these and the Uggs. Someone commented that there was no sheepskin fur on the insole where your foot rests. There sure is and it feels great. If I had gone a size up, which for me would have been a 9, it definitely would have been way too big. These fit the same as the Uggs, at least for me. Color was true to pic. I can't see spending a whole lot of extra money when these are just as good. Also, someone said that the other brands are made in Australia and Bearpaws is made in China. You better take a look again. They are ALL made in China. None of them are made in Australia! Some said that the outer skin of the others is sheepskin while Bearpaw if Cow leather. Well, yes, Bearpaw exterior is "Suede", not sheepskin. But "Suede" is more durable, in my opinion. Both are delicate materials. However, again read labels carefully on other known brands. They all say "Leather upper"....."sheepskin lining". None of them say "sheepskin upper" so I don't know. I have a feeling they are all the same. Bearpaw does make a fake suede and fake fur at a much lesser price. These (Emma short) is the real deal. I can't wait to sink my feet in these when the weather gets colder. My friend's "Bearpaws" held up better for her than her more expensive brand. For the money, this can't be beat. And remember, for all suede and sheepskin, you need to waterproof and stainproof them before using them in rain and snow. None of these brands claim to be waterproof or stainproof. They are suede in nature, after all. So you need to be careful. I will update again once I've gotten through the winter with them to let you all know how they held up. I will not be wearing them every day at the exclusion of all other shoes and boots so I plan to enjoy these for many years to come! Stitching and seaming seem to be the same as other brands as well. Can't go wrong for the money! Came quickly. Packaging was great. Got mine directly through Amazon, not third party merchant. Sometimes that can make a difference. When dealing directly with Amazon, I have never had a problem.

These boots lasted less than 3 months for me. I have bought this same pair before and they lasted at a minimum the entire fall/winter. But they have slits for grip on the soles and from standard use, the slits have split all the way into the cushion on the bottom of the boots. There is probably a better tread pattern than this one.

Update: I submitted a warranty request through Bearpaw on January 10th, they approved the request on 1/16 and now it is 1/25 and I still have no tracking number like it has shipped yet. It may have shipped and I just don't have it yet. But 2 weeks in Ohio winter with no wearable boots is annoying. I don't buy lots of extra shoes, I just buy what I need so I didn't have a backup expect heavy snow boots. I feel like I should have just bought another pair and wrote these off instead of getting the warranty request.

Ordered Jan.18 2016 received Jan. 21 2016 2weeks within the first time my daughter wore it started showing signs of peeling on the bottom of 1 of the boot I Ignored it thinking she might've stepped on something following the second time she wore it to school and came home as you can see from the second and last photo of what had happened I should've returned it with the first signs of the peeling which I gratefully ignored and now I'm stuck with a pair boots which is terribly ruined less than 45 days less then 4 x of used! Sadly this is not our first, second, or third pair of bear Bearpaw boots. I believe this pair which I received was stuck in storage for so long with hot conditions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Amazon feels the need to compensate me, it will be GREATLY appreciated, though. ;)

I just got these boots yesterday. For the longest time I could not figure out what the big deal was about this type of boot. Before purchasing these I went into the UGG store and tried on a pair of their boots. With UGG and bear paw I really don't know the difference. You're basically paying for one brand over the other. If you are looking for practicality and comfort more than a label, this is the best bang for your buck! I like bear paw because they make half size shoes (I'm 9.5). I love these so much I bought one pair in gray and one in caramel color and both pairs combined are still way cheaper than one pair of UGGS. My first time wearing the gray ones, I wore them for 12 hours straight. They fit perfectly and true to size. I didn't have any discomfort or complaints and my feet were toasty warm all day in very cold weather. I am completely happy with my purchase!

I have worn the shoe hardly 5 times. See the picture for it’s condition (left and right shoes). I realized this after walking into my office on a cold day. I am not expecting them to last long for the price of the product but I am not expecting cloth and rubber glued and send out either.

Box was damaged and boots looked like they've been sliding back and forth a lot, left scuffs on the bottom rim. I wear size 6.5-7 and got 6 this time. They are snug, but I'm sure they'll become looser with wear. Bought size 7 a year ago and after some wear they felt too loose. Quality seems good, but there isn't much overlap where the buttons are, it might let in cold air.

LOVE these boots. They have the same quality as the more expensive alternative brand (UGG) and are much more within my budget. When you are buying shoes for two teenagers as well as yourself you tend to find the best product at the best price. These were my answer to two teenagers and myself wanting UGGS...I just couldn't swing almost $500 for three pairs of boots...we each got a pair for about $60 each! That is quite a savings. Do your research and you will find that the name brand is all you are paying for. Look for quality workmanship as well as a good warranty and use a reputable seller. I would buy this brand again. And again, and again.

I love these boots. I read several reviews that said these run big, but that wasn't the case for me. I usually wear a 7.5. I bought a 7 in these boots. They were a little tight when I first put them on (I even thought about exchanging them for an 8). After I wore them a little they seemed to stretch just a little bit and they fit fine now. They are super cute and warm. I like how these are a little taller than most ugg-style boots.

I got them in hickory cheetah colored and I really like the lil something extra it adds to my outfits. Growing up I never liked this style of boots but now that I've gotten my sec pair I actually like them. Their a must for those cold winter nights and days. The Abigail have a lil less fur than the regular bear paws and they are a lil harder to get on especially if you have wide feet/ ankle's ( I have neither). Will be purchasing more in different color and styles because their great quality for the price u pay.

I would love to give these 5 stars. They are cute, versatile boots, look very warm, arrived quickly. But they are just too small for me. If you have a wide foot like me, beware. I have a wide left foot (ok, cankle) from edema. Couldn’t even get the left one on. I’ve had other brands that come in wide width that fit great. These don’t come in wide width. I saw they ran a bit big in some reviews & took a chance. My bad. Just putting this rating out there for anyone like me who might be considering these. Everyone else, you will love them! I really was looking forward to them & really wished they fit! :( Even considered keeping them, just in case, but had to return). Hope they fit all who buy! :)

Just got my blue Bearpaw in, came in earlier than expected, packaged well. Brand new in the box great quality. The buttons are not just for looks they do function so that you can fold your boots down. I wear a size 8 and ordered a size 8 they are snug, but it's recommended that you order your normal size as they do stretch a bit. I have been walking around the house in them for a few hours and they are starting to get a bit looser. Definitely a good investment as I won't need to buy more boots for a few winters.

I like these boots except next time I will order them without buttons on the side. They are easy to put on but the bottom button on the left boot had a large knot in the elastic that holds it on that wore a hole in my ankle skin the first time I wore them. I really wanted to post a good review. Sorry Bearpaws. I had tried a 9 on at a local store and they were great. Got such a great price on Amazon that I took off the button and resewed it on with strong thread. Waited for ankle wound to heal and now I'm wearing them in the snow. They are warm and comfy. I normally wear a 9. They are cute. A taller boot would have been handy this year with as much snow as we've all ready received.

The product is great! However the packaging appeared to be nice at first since the boots came in their "bear paw" box, but when I opened the box not only did I find the shoes, but I received an additional half-empty bag of chips.
The ship crumbs were all over the shoes! Gross! I was able to wipe the chips off... But why?

I've purchased 3 pairs of Bearpaw's of Emma 12" in the last 3 years or so and so far, the latest 2 pairs are the best due to the redesign of the sole. The lst pair I purchased, the sole cracked immediately after wearing them, parts of it actually fell off so, they became unwearable and I spent aprox. $40 but had to throw them away.

The redesign hasn't caused any sole cracking or loosening from the suede boot. There is a slight issue tho. I stepped in my cat's throw up (gross I know) and it got into the deep tiny grooves of the design in the sole. I had to use toothpicks to dig it out because using water & a scrub brush could not reach inside those tiny grooves. It took forever to clean each tiny groove and the toothpicks would break in the process. This was so frustrating!

The sole design is cute but not practical due to the fact that you're going to step in something eventually and if you want to keep the soles clean and not track goop around, you'll need to reach the goop in those teeny grooves. Uggs don't have grooves on their soles (or my pair doesn't) and they're much easier to keep clean. Bearpaw should design the soles so that they can be cleaned easily and so no yucky goop collects inside those teeny tiny grooves.

Edit: Last winter (2017) the soles split on these as well. Even with the new soles, it didn't keep them from splitting. I never wear them outside so, these must be fragile just like the former soles.

I have a pair of Uggs from 10 yrs ago and the soles are just as intact as the day I purchased them. I know they're very expensive but I've purchased now so many pairs of Bearpaw....I could have just bought a 2nd pair of Uggs! Sometimes, quality IS expensive and there's no getting around it ...darn it, it's just the truth.

Cozy boots for Alaska winters and great price compared to similar products. I have like 5 pairs of bear paw boots and these are my least favorite though. The And? They're not treated with waterproof stuff. Boo. Also, the soles have NO traction whatsoever... what the heck is that all about? Also, since they don't come in half sizes, I had to get them a whole size bigger to allow for fluffy socks. But this causes the support inside the shaft of the boot to dig into the back of my heel. The Good? I have bunions and the toe box is generous and doesn't squash my tootsies. Gray is a fairly unusual boot color to begin with, but these are awesome cause they are exactly the right color to match pretty much and shade of gray. I love that the lining is also gray. Overall recommended.

I'm a recent convert to this style of shoe, but I work in a really casual office that's FREEZING and needed something comfortable and warm - these are so perfect, they're my new favorite winter boot. Suede is great quality, as is the Sherpa lining.

Sizing Note: I've read many reviews that stated they got the shoe way too big, and others recommending that you go to Bearpaw's website to figure out the correct size - both of those points are incorrect. Bearpaw recommends sizing 1-2 sizes UP because of the thick lining of the shoe - I believe that's why people are mistakenly ordering the wrong size.

I went with another reviewer who suggested to order a size down because the lining will pack in around your foot and you'll end up with more room - so thankful for that suggestion - I'm a 6.5, ordered a 6 - the first few days of wear, yes the shoes were tight - but sure enough the lining has packed inside and they now fit perfectly - there's actually enough room for me to put an insert in these so I have more arch support.

So far, so good. I have mostly been wearing them around my house and for Quick trips outside. They are much higher quality than I was expecting given the reviews but they seem really well stitched, sturdy, and I love that they have rubber soles. I bought a 7 which is what I usually wear and they fit comfortably with socks and there's just a little extra room if you're not wearing socks. The boot fits comfortable around my calves (14in at widest point), not too snug or lose (I can fit my hand in there). I also waterproofed them using a spray and have not noticed a huge difference in color so that is nice. Happy to have these for winter, Will update if anything changes .

Update: After only occasional light wearing, think quick trips outside with dogs and one wear to work, some stitching on the outside of the boot has started to come undone and the fabric has become loose :( Disappointinh after such a short amount of time and very little wear. They are otherwise very comfortable and warm!

I LOVE these shoes. Since my pregnancy, my feet and sciatic nerve have not be the same. I am a teacher, so I am on my feet A LOT! Since purchasing these shoes, I have hardly had any issues with my feet, lower back, or sciatic nerve. The support in this shoe is excellent. If you have any kind of feet issue, I highly recommend these shoes. AND, they are really cute, too!

I read all the reviews and people saying to go up a size because the toe box ran small. I have wide feet, so I upped from my regular size of 6.5 to a 7. I wish I hadn't. Although the shoes still "fit" they feel EXTRA roomy in the toe box, and I would have preferred that I had my true size.

Other than the sizing thing, they are a great looking shoe and comfortable. I love the grey and mint color scheme.

I love my shoes! They are very supportive, especially around the ankle area, but still have enough room in the toes to be comfortable even when walking down hill. These are good shoes to wear all day long, even after a workout. I wear them with light weight socks. Usually, my shoes are size 8.5 to 9; these shoes are size 9.5.

Got these boots last week for my son, ordered half size bigger, fit perfect! he wore these boots at the mountains to go hunting with his dad, and it was very-very cold up there for thanksgiving, he said his feet were warm at all times, and even went through puddles of water and his feet stayed dry, you can adjust the elastic cord on the top to prevent snow or anything go inside the boot, can't wait to see how these do in the snow! I love these boots and will definitely buy them again when he outgrows them. Also keep in mind, Amazon has the cheapest price on this style and color, I checked all sites including the sister site 6pm and as always, amazon didn't disappoint. the delivery was super fast, 2 days from the moment I placed the order.

I have got a wide foot and never have been able to find boots that fit, and I was told to check these out. When I first got them they looked narrow, but they fit great and are oh so comfy... And the picture does no justice! They are beautiful! If you have a wide foot, just go up one size 😉 I'll definitely be ordering more...

I purchased these May 2012 - it's now Oct 2016. 4 years 5 months and it's time for another pair and I am buying these exact same boot. They have been great and offer extremely good value for the amount of abuse and use I put them through. They worked perfectly for me and as such I am BUYING another pair.

1st pair lasted me 4 years and 5 months after nearly daily wear and abuse - IN Short I am getting another pair now.

My husband, toddler, and I have all attempted to get these boots on the toddler's feet several times -- never with any luck. It's like his foot can't get from the leg part into the boot part. They're cute, and warm when I have them on my hand, but I just can't get them on the toddler -- which makes them pretty useless. An older kid who is more able to help dress themselves might not have this issue, but for our 2 - 2.5 year old, these boots are just too much of a battle. I'm very disappointed, but I don't know if it is the not-helpful-yet age of my kiddo or the product or some of both. (We did get other boots from Target and he goes into those without issue, but the interior design / lining style is very different, so it's hard to compare.) These look like such a good idea, and I really like the idea of the strap around the ankle. I really wish we could get them on him!

My daughter has worn Kamik boots for the past two winters (the Snowbug style), so when I saw this boot on sale in August I jumped on it. I compared the size to her current shoes, concluded it would be the right size to grow into over the winter, and put it away without showing her so that she wouldn't want to wear it for the rest of the summer.

I was patting myself on the back for being so prepared for winter, but when I pulled the boot out of the closet in December, we discovered that the liner is stitched in such a weird and narrow way, with a sharp right angle, that there's no way for her to jam her foot in. She doesn't have a fat or wide foot; she's medium width in all her other footwear. The footbed is the right size, but that hardly matters. She could wear them without the liner, but then they'll be way too big and sloppy and have no insulation. I'm so disappointed.

I see now that there are other reviews with the same complaint. I wonder if they are specific to certain sizes, because I don't see how these boots could work for any kid. FWIW, I am reviewing a toddler size 9.

These boots are great but be aware that the wide boots have different liners than the regular boots. The regular Kamik Rocket boot has a thicker liner that gives the boot a -40 rating. These boot have a thinner liner with a -20 rating. It appears that what Kamik did was use the same outer boot with a thinner liner to make more room for a wider foot.

Not a bad boot for the price. I wear them a lot. They are very comfortable. The only problem I found was how loose they are around the leg. Even with pants tucked in them there seems to be a lot of room left still. If I wear leggings with them forget it. It looks kind of ridiculous how big they are around my ankle and the top of the boot as well. The buttons and elastic holding them "closed" is merely design and serves no purpose whatsoever. I even doubled up the elastic around the button and it didn't make much difference at all. If you don't mind that sort of thing then by all means get them. The shoe size is right and the tread is thick.

I expected at least a week of discomfort from a pair of new work boots. The first two days in these were a little rough but by day 3 they were surprisingly feeling pretty good. Now they're comfy as hell, tough as nails, and they look pretty awesome.

Just 3 days into owning these boots I dropped a 300lb generator and thought it missed my foot completely. When I tried to move I found out that the generator was sitting nicely on top of my steel toe. Barely a scratch on the boot.

This is my third pair of these boots. The other two pairs where comfortable, and lasted a good time. (2 years) This most recent pair has been Very disappointing. In the top of the inside, right behind the steel toe, the material pokes down and rubs on my foot when doing a lot of crouching and kneeling and causes alot of discomfort. And then it stays stuck down, and I have to take the boot off to push it back up. My dad had this same problem with his. Also after purchasing in February, and 2 of those months since then they weren't worn, they are already falling apart at the seams.

Have had great luck with many CAT boots in the past. Decided to try these based on personal past experience with the brand and other reviews. These were terribly uncomfortable, and you can't remove the insoles to replace with another one, it was glued in place, I had to rip it out and scrape off the chunks. Put in some upgraded insoles that I've used before, they helped a little, but still very uncomfortable. They do seem to be durable enough though if you can stand to wear them.

These boots are the bomb. My husband was shredding much more expensive boots in less than 6 months. The ramp on his truck was like a cheese grater on the soles. These boots have held up really well. He's had them over 6 months now and there's no sign that they will need replaced any time soon. He did mention that they were a bit hard to break in, as pretty much all boots are. There's not much arch support, so insoles are recommended. Still, awesome boot for the price. There's a reason that CAT has been making this exact boot for decades now.

I finally put my first significant tear into these boots and they've been worn hard through woods, scrap metal piles, downed barbed wire, etc. I think I can still get another year out of them after a little patch job. Excellent boots and for the price you can't go wrong as long as you get the right size. The liner will wear down and leave "fuzzy" globs. I gentle cut them off or leave them. I thought I would of had to replace the liners before the boots but apparently not! The liners are still in good shape.

I always buy cold weather boots 2-3 sizes too big so I can wear heavy wool socks while deer hunting and ice fishing. I also put a foam insole in the bottom for additional insulation. Tight boots will make your feet get cold fast. They seemed a little on the small side. Nonetheless they fit good enough. They are definitely not -40 degree boots but I live in N. Michigan, not the North Pole, so they're fine. My feet got chilly after sitting for a couple of hours on a 34 degree day. These are felt pack boots, not Thinsulate packs (which are warmer) but for the price I can't complain. I had a pair of Ranger cold weather boots with Thinsulate packs and they were awesome, even on the lake when it was 0 degrees but they dry-rotted in less than a year. They were also twice as much money. I gave them a 4 star rating because they're not -40 degree boots as advertised. I supposed if you were hiking your feet wouldn't freeze solid, but they're not for sitting still at -40 for any length of time but they are a good value for the price.

Great for my mild bunions on my big toe joints. I have arthritis in my big toe joints and I get constant pain there if the shoe isn't wide enough. The regular size of this style rubs so I must buy a wide. I tried these on elsewhere before because I was interested, and wanted to buy from Amazon. This is the only brand of shoes I wear now due to my bunions (rarely wear heels or flats unless its for an occasion). Women's size for regular width is M. Wide in women's shoes would be a D. I also bought an almost black pair with gray (for work) but had to buy a men's style because they don't have the same color schemes in women's. The cushioning for GHOST 10 is THE BEST for the Ghost line so far. I feel like I'm walking on pillows! Very stable and keeps my foot from rolling inward. The heel area is a bit high, but gives the support. The shoes are light weight even though it may look a bit cluncky at the heel. Don't let the look fool you. I use one pair for work (with Power Step insoles per my Dr. for the bunions and because I'm on my feet 8 hours a day) and one for running and walking (without insoles).

Helpful hint I learned; women's and men's Ghost shoes are the same for the make up of the shoe cushion and build materials except for the width and size of course. Women who wear men's shoes would be 1 1/2 size smaller. Men's widths are automatically wide size D for their "regular size". Example, I wear a 10W(D) in women's. In men's I am an 8 1/2(D). If I was a regular width in women's I would be a 10(M). Also I learned that as you gain weight your foot expands as well and has to take some of the tension in the feet, therefore you should take this into consideration when sizing. For those who are dealing with the bunion issue, I took a picture (don't laugh my feet are a little tan but not gross either lol). I think its important to show because many other types of athletic shoes for years make shoes way too narrow but rarely offer wider sizes in the popular styles. Although this has changed for the better in recent years it still can be a pain for folks who need a wide with or something to accommodate their foot issues. So we are stuck with the not so great looking popular shoes sometimes. But Brooks has one of the best looking athletic shoes that offer stability and support for individuals needing a wide shoe, and/or have flat feet- IMO. There are some others brands that do the same as well. Those for me are hit and miss because sometimes the stitching and material would rub in the bunion area or some styles for a particular year wasn't reinforced enough. But for my feet, none of the Brooks styles I have ever owned disappointed me! Learning what type of feet I have and getting checked up on my foot issues helped me focus on better shoes for my health. My money, time, and investment has been well spent with the Brooks brand instead of focusing on the "popular shoes everyone has to have".

USPS just dropped these off as I was headed out to the barn for my morning chores. We got about 8 inches of snow the other day so I took off my old barn boots and put these on right away. I'm a men's 9.5 but ordered size 10 and the fit is perfect with regular socks on. You won't need heavy socks with these boots as they have a great liner in them. I have a pretty wide foot and like I said going up a half size worked out well. Very comfortable, warm and great traction and they seem like they'll last quite a few years, and I'm pretty rough on my boots. I highly recommend this product as you are getting a lot of bang for your buck.

Excellent boots- very warm and well made. Easy to slip on and off. I wear a size 9 1/2/10 and these 10's fit me perfectly. I tuck in the pull string and nylon behind the insulation (as seen in attached pic) unless I’m going to be in the woods or deep snow. I wear these everywhere everyday and they look great with dress and casual wear. The tread is really good and helps with insulation, unlike my thin Sorel’s. These are less expensive, totally waterproof and much warmer then the Sorel’s. I highly recommend.

These boots are alright in comfort and size. The problem is that the company shipped me a pair of boots that should NOT have passed quality control. There is a lace at the top that goes around the boot, meant for tightening down so that you know, snow and such doesn't get IN your boot. Well, after we just got some impressive snow yesterday (18 inches), I go to tighten down the top and low and behold, someone had sewn one of the aglet ends right into the boot. Now, yes, I can tie them, even if it is awkward. The thing is, they sent these, knowing that they were not correct, and at full price. I know that someone noticed it because when I went to tie the boots, I had to first UNtie their first "out of the box strange tie configuration". That's when I noticed it. I'm getting replacements but now I have to drop them off at UPS, which is sort of annoying when you live 20 miles from one. I hope that the quality of the boot surpasses the first impression.

Most of the reviews said that these boots run a little big. I usually wear a 8 1/2 so I ordered an 8. When I first put them on, I thought these are too small. After I wore them awhile, the felt liner wears in and they fit fine now. If I had to order again, I would just Oder e size I always wear though. I just wear a normal pair of socks and they fit good, but if I wanted to wear a pair of thick hunting socks, they would be too snug. Wore them all day cutting wood and cleaning horse stall in 10 degree snow and sleet and they were very comfortable. I like them and they have become the boot I pick when going outside for the day.

My husband would give these 6 stars if he could. He has huge feet and wears size 13/14 in normal shoes. We ordered these in size 14 and although they look enormous, they fit perfectly because of the wool liner. He reports that they are super easy on and off, they don't slip and they keep his feet really warm and dry. Traction is also good (see tread print pic - his is the big print and my 9.5 women's boot is the small one). He wears them every day in Northern Michigan winters, and pairs with his snow bib for deep snow excursions. He usually is quite picky about wanting pricier items, but these boots are very reasonably priced and he absolutely loves them.

The boots are well made, clean molds and nice details. I read the reviews and notice 50% said it fits well and 50% said its too large. What wasn't explained is the 1/4" felt wrapped in the boot (the lining everyone was mentioning). The misconception was a inner lining usually meant a cotton polyester fabric. Any how, 1/4" wrap around means an 1/2".

I wear a size 9, the size 9 boot was a nice fit with the felt wrap around my ankle but was very loose above the ankle. I'm have large calves from running but there was still a lot of room which is probably great for stuffing your jeans.

My preference is without the felt. I'm a size 9, It is better to go with a size 8 for a nice fit with adverage to thick socks, or 7.5 for sneaker fit with thin socks. Put it this way, if your feet sweat, get the 8, if they don't get the 7.5.

These shoes are very cute, super flexible and hug the foot perfectly. They are lightweight and comfortable to wear. Sizing really isn’t that difficult- use the sizing chart included. We got the Vengeance which I would say run about a half size small. We ordered a half size up from the regular street shoe size. You do want the shoes to fit snug. These aren’t shoes that you can order large to last longer. I used a ruler and had my daughter stand on the ruler, so her foot had pressure on it and then took her measurements. After that, the sizing chart was right on with her sizing. There is different sizing charts for each style of shoe.

Love these shoes, I had to send them back because I got the wrong size, My daughter was so in love with them, she wanted to wear them anyway, so I had to go to a local store that sold them just so I could purchase a half size larger, because I had to send them back because I refused to have to purchase a new pair in the next 6 months. These shoes are perfect and light weight and the case is a bonus, When I got them locally because of my impatient child, I ended up with a different case, the zipper ended up breaking and now we have no case at all. But The SHOES are perfect for any Cheerbaby.

My initial impression is these are the most comfortable sneakers I've put on in my life. They literally feel like slippers. Time will tell as to whether they hold up in the gym and walking, but I like a well cushioned shoe and these are. The mesh top is what makes them so comfy. I will update if they do not hold up, but it's a great start.

Update 11/5/17: I normally get size 11 4E in New Balance, but after using these a few days I should have gone down a half size. They are a bit larger than my normal NB 623 cross-training shoes, but not so bad I need to send them back. I've been using them at the gym and they are perfect for working on exercise machines such as ellipticals and treadmills. The heel is a little soft, you feel like you sink in but it's not that bad, and they are by no means a stability shoe. That said, my old bones love them. They are still the most comfortable highly cushioned shoe I've ever put on. I would buy them again.

I needed to buy black shoes to use for work and it needed to be one that feels comfortable for walking and standing all day. I was starting to get major heel pain with my previous shoes and after reading the reviews on this one, I pull the trigger on it. The shoes are surprisingly comfortable when walking. The insole in thick and the cushion has nice recovery on it so every step feels very comfortable.

For standing all day though... it's not that great. While the insole cushion has nice recovery, when walking, it bottoms out too easily. Stand in one position too long and it starts to feel like any other shoes with mediocre insoles. Arch support is okay, but not great either.

All in all, I would say that these shoes are great for walking as the name states, but if you're doing more standing than walking, I would suggest a different shoe.

When I ordered these, I was hesitant. I was even more hesitant when ordering my actual size because people said that they run small. I ordered my size nine, which is what I normally wear, and they fit like a charm. Everything about these boots are perfect. They fit snug (the way I want them) and they are so comfortable. I would recommend these to everyone (: I adore them!

I am a 6.5 or 7. I read the reviews and ordered an 8 - it was too big. I ordered a 7 and it fit very well. However, I do not wear socks with them - if so, they would likely be tight. I have some issues with bunions and need a shoe that runs wide in order to be comfortable and this boot is fine and comfortable. They are warm as well.

Bearpaw is an excellent, very high quality brand suede winter boot. My last pair held up for 2 winters but the shaft is crumpled and is rubbing against my shins, so I bought this pair of shorter ones this year. The lining is thick, the soles are non slip. It's difficult to imagine buying a different brand after having had, now 3 pairs if I count the 2 I wore out, in this wonderful brand. Be SURE to spray waterproofing on them. If you wear out a certain part of the bottom of your shoes, or more than one spot, like the left side of the heal on one...get a shoe repair guy to put reinforcement pieces on those spots, it's cheap to do and worth it, I needed 2 on each boot, I think the whole deal was $7 2 years ago.

The other brands are so expensive, and when I saw the low price on these, I thought I'd try them out; however, I wasn't expecting them to be good quality. Boy was I pleasantly surprised!! These boots fit great, look great, very comfortable and warm! If you are in between sizes, I would suggest you size up, that's what I did and they fit excellent. So glad I tried these, and I will buy this brand again!

Bearpaw quality never disappoints. This is a super cute style with all of the cozy warmth the brand is famous for. This style runs true to size. I bought these in chocolate and chestnut. Extremely nice boots. I have Ugg & Emu also but I prefer my bearpaws. The comfort level, price and durability of bearpaw win out over the competition.

I bought a 2E size in NB MW857s last year. They were leather and a little stiffer and tighter in the fit than I liked. So I ordered these 411s as a 4E and in a more pliable material. These 411s still felt a little tight but because of the more pliable uppers they were OK for me. But I did compare the 857s (2E) vs. the new 411s (4E) and they were the same width, by my measurement, across place on the uppers where I notice the narrow fit. Both models were made in Indonesia. My small sample may not be be statistically significant, but IF I buy another New Balance shoe, it will be an even wider size as New Balance's sizing practices seem to have changed.

I bought these shoes for work, have been wearing them for about 3 months so far, and they have been great. My job requires a lot of standing and these shoes provide the most comfort of all the different shoes I have tried. I really like how light they are and how well they are holding up to daily use.

        Pros:
        -Great cushioning
-Easy to break in and did not require too much time before I was running 5+ miles in them
        -Great style

        Cons:
-The sole of the shoe has worn out only about 3.5 months after purchased. Poor durability.

Best running shoe I have ever had! I am not a hardcore runner, but when I can finally get out there I run for about 5 miles. The entire time my feet feel like I am running on clouds! I could go on and on in these shoes. I have probably ran about 30 miles in them so far and my feet are in perfect shape thanks to these shoes!

I love these shoes. They are adorable. They are also one of the only shoes that comes in half sizes for little toddlers. I'm not sure if my kid has fat feet, but the top of the Velcro strap never quite makes it over the bottom. It might be a little snug on a kid with chubby feet. They seem comfy and always stay on.

I bought a pair in blue for walking about while on holiday last year .given that I have narrow feet they are a little wide but not that this stops me wearing them and in fact it helped on holiday when my feet swelled with the heat .They are so comfortable and light to wear I now wear them at home around the house . They are very good as driving shoes a well made shoe for every day use I will be buying again when I eventually wear them out .
Try them you will not be disappointed
